Norris Neil Harris was a prominent numismatist known for his extensive work in the field of tokens and medals. He edited significant publications, including California Tokens by Charles V. Kappen, which provides a comprehensive catalog of trade tokens used in California.

Harris is also an editor: he edited Medals of the United States Mint: The First Century, 1792-1892 by R. W. Julian, an illustrated history and annotated catalog of medals produced by the U.S. Mint during its first hundred years.

In addition to his editorial work, Harris was a talented numismatic artist. He designed 24 transportation tokens issued for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, showcasing his artistic contributions to numismatics.

Harris's contributions have been instrumental in documenting and preserving the history of tokens and medals, particularly those related to California and the United States Mint.
